Jazmin is an Australian-trained cardiothoracic (heart and lung) surgeon, and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Surgeons.
She has undertaken years of extra training in thoracic surgery (surgery of the lungs, chest wall and associated structures) to gain additional expertise and experience. Her area of expertise includes lung cancer surgery, surgery for infections and trauma of the chest, and mediastinal masses.
She has a special interest in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, including surgery through fewer and smaller incisions, as well as robotic approaches.
Jazmin is committed to advancing knowledge in thoracic surgery. She is a founding member of the bi-national Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Thoracic Surgical Database, which seeks to measure and improve the outcomes of patients undergoing thoracic surgery in the two countries. She is a clinical lecturer at Melbourne University, and is undertaking a master’s degree in clinical ethics at Oxford University.
She has public appointments at Eastern Health, Monash Medical Centre and St Vincent’s Hospital, and manages private surgical patients at Epworth Eastern and St Vincent’s Private Hospital.
